Abstract
Pharmacogenomic testing uses genetic information to help predict how individuals may respond to medications. For psychiatric nurse practitioners, understanding the role of pharmacogenomics in medication prescribing can enhance treatment outcomes and reduce adverse effects. This article reviews the current evidence on pharmacogenomic testing and discusses its clinical implications for psychiatric medication management.
